Dr. Maceroni was born and raised in Macomb County Michigan and considers it a great honor to provide care and medical treatment to the community that he grew up in. Dr. Maceroni attended Wayne State University on a full academic scholarship, completing his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. Dr. Maceroni then earned his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency locally at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
During his residency, Dr. Maceroni received extensive training in shoulder reconstructive surgery, joint replacements and trauma surgery. While initially starting his career as a general orthopedic surgeon, he currently specializes in shoulder arthroplasty, surgical treatment of complex traumatic fractures and bony injuries, as well as total knee and hip replacements. Dr. Maceroni has also received extra training in the anterior approach to the hip, which allows for a quicker recovery period compared to traditional hip replacements. The anterior approach also allows for the utilization of x-rays during the procedure to enhance surgical accuracy and reduce complications.
Dr. Maceroni is an advocate for continued education and teaching. He is core faculty for the Henry Ford Macomb Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program and is actively involved in the training and development of its residents. He prides himself on taking the time to educate his patients and make sure they have a full understanding of their condition and all available treatment options both operative and conservative.
